Very nice work. The lighting is awesome - you've got the primary and secondary shades happening at once quite effectively. I also like ...

Excited about upcoming Halloween.

Been painting more than ever.  Feels great.  Experimenting with new techniques and attempting to explore new subjects.

Busy with school stress, between-jobs stress, family stress, and the ever present "always need to write/paint" stress.

But things are looking up.  In spite of the worries, interesting things have been happening and interesting people have been met.  Like I said, I'm kinda excited about Halloween.

I absolutely love the backgrounds on all of your new pieces. They are seriously so beautiful! I like how they aren't just flat looking, but I imagine it's the difference of you working with paints and "real" materials instead of on a program at the computer (although those pieces were incredible as well, don't get me wrong).

I hope you're enjoying all of this work you've been able to produce, and you've been much more satisfied with actually being able to hold your finished project, which is what, if I remember correctly, was the problem before. It's amazing :]

Thanks so much, Sam! You're right on all accounts -- doing the backgrounds is not only easier, but more fun to do, and having the satisfaction of physically holding a finished painting, or making the paining itself, is significantly greater than Photoshop. While I still respect digital artwork, I feel as though it was a sort of 'phase' of mine, and there are aspects of it that I miss sometimes(undo button, comes to mind), but that's part of the charm of real-world "analog" art. :)

Your words are encouraging. I have, for the first time in years, seriously considered showing my work at a gallery or something, and am in the process of exploring that venue. For some reason, doing that with digital work was ... less appealing.

At any rate, more to come! Take care sista!

Take care as well, and good luck in your continued process! :D
I'm sure any "mistakes" you make will be easily wiped away or crafted over. It looks as though there are layers on many of the pieces you are currently making, so that may always be an option.

:]
